City notes

Transformer supply in Punjab's cities

Every Punjab city has its own mix of industry. The notes below cover the loads we usually see in each and what to mention when you ask for a price. Orders are managed from the Bathinda head office, with the Nalagarh and Ambala plants helping when the rating or delivery date calls for them.

Ludhiana

As Punjab's largest industrial city, Ludhiana runs on hosiery and knitting, bicycle and auto parts, forging and steel. Furnace and re-rolling units need furnace-duty designs, and many mid-size factories run 500 kVA–2 MVA distribution units on 11 kV. Give the furnace rating and the duty cycle if you run one.

Jalandhar

Jalandhar's sports goods, hand tools, leather and rubber units are mostly small and mid-size, with many motor loads. Power factor and maximum demand charges matter a lot here. The main site has a guide to power factor and MDI.

Amritsar

Textiles, food processing, hospitality around the Golden Temple area, and commercial buildings. Hotels and hospitals often need indoor dry-type units. See transformers for hotels and malls.

Mohali

Mohali has IT parks, hospitals, high-rise housing and light industry in its industrial area phases. Projects often compare compact substations with conventional yards. Sites in Mohali can also deal with our tricity team at the Panchkula Customer Connect office.

Patiala

Patiala combines institutional and government buildings, educational campuses, and agro-industry along the Rajpura side. Replacement orders are common, so a nameplate photo helps us quote quickly. Here's how to read one.

Bathinda and the Malwa belt

This is where our head office is. Rice shellers, cotton ginning, cold stores, solar parks and refinery-linked projects make up the Malwa load. Buyers in Mansa, Muktsar, Faridkot and Ferozepur can visit Unit I on Malout Road.
